Butler And Wilson Costume Jewellery
Butler & Wilson costume jewellery is jewellery by the British-based fashion company, Butler & Wilson.

History & Description

The company was established in 1969 when Nicky Butler and Simon Wilson began selling antique jewellery from a small stand at the Antiquarius Market, located in Kings Road, Chelsea, London. By 1972, the pair had opened their first shop on Fulham Road and began to design and produce their own brand of costume jewellery.

During the 1980s, the company was commissioned to design exclusive ranges of jewellery for both the Georgio Armani collection and for the 1984 edition of Pirelli’s famous calendar. In 1985, the company opened a second shop in the fashionable South Molton Street and a year later opened its first outlet in Harrods, South Kensington.

Guide for collectors

The company’s costume jewellery has been worn by some of the late-twentieth century’s most beautiful women, including Jerry Hall, Charlotte Rampling, Faye Dunaway and Catherine Deneuve.

Butler & Wilson costume jewellery is occasionally offered by national auction houses although the most valuable items are typically sold through international auctioneers like Christie’s and Sotheby’s.

For more information, collectors should visit the official Butler & Wilson website.
