Elvis Presley collectibles are items of music memorabilia relating to the American recording artist and actor Elvis Presley.


Elvis Aaron Presley (8 January 1935 – 16 August 1977) was one of the most popular American rock and roll singers of the 20th century and remains a cultural idol to this day.

Elvis was born in a two bedroom house in Tupelo, Mississippi. His twin brother was stillborn leaving Elvis as an only child.

Elvis Presley began his singing career in 1954 with the Sun Records label in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1955, his recording contract was sold to RCA Victor.

By 1956, Elvis was an international sensation. His unique sound appealed to people all over the world and many believe that he is responsible for ushering in a new era of American music and popular culture1.

Over the course of this life, Elvis starred in 33 films and sold over one billion records across the globe.

On 16 August, 1977, Elvis Presley died at his Memphis home, Graceland.

Vintage clothing

Many items of Elvis’ vintage clothing have been sold at auction.

A jacket that was worn by Elvis Presley in the 1968 MGM car racing film Speedway sold for $20,480 at a Julien’s Auctions sale in 20092.

On October 5 2008, a white two-piece custom leather suit worn by Elvis was sold by Heritage Auction Galleries. It sold for £120,000.

Hand-written set lists

At a music memorabilia sale held by Julien’s Auctions on November 21st 2009, two set lists hand written by Elvis sold for $18,750 and $16,640.

Collectible hair

In November 2009, a single hair of Elvis’ was featured in a sale held by Henry Aldridge & Son in Wiltshire, England. The single strand was estimated to sell for £250. It actually sold for £1,055.


Several items of jewellery worn by the late Elvis Presley have been sold at auction.

At an Affiliated Auctions sale in December 2009 a 10 carat diamond ring worn by Elvis was sold for $107,500.

A ruby ring owned by Elvis was sold at a Julien’s Auctions sale in 2009 for $13,750.

Musical instruments

Many of Elvis’ musical instruments have also been sold at auction.

In 2009, a Martin-D28 guitar owned by Elvis Presley was sold at a Profiles in History auction for $106,2003.
