Brief history

The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is a series of nine horror movies (initially written and directed by Wes Craven) along with a collection of novels and comic books and a television show as well.

The first film in the series (A Nightmare on Elm Street) was released in 1984, followed by Freddy's Revenge in 1985, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987, Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master in 1988, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child in 1989, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare in 1991, Wes Craven's New Nightmare in 1994, Freddy vs. Jason in 2003, and A Nightmare on Elm Street in 2010.

  • Profiles in History in Calabasas Hills, California sold Danny Hassel's or "Dan Jordan's" hero bio-mechanical transformation suit and head which was used in A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989) for $3,250 in August of 2008.

  • Julien's in Beverly Hills, California sold a Freddy Krueger glove which was used in Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994) for $5,250 in November of 2003, and another one of Freddy Krueger's gloves which was used in Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989) for $1,100 in August of 2004.
  • Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas sold a Freddy Krueger razor glove which was used in Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989) for $550 in February of 2009.
  • Profiles in History in Calabasas Hills, California sold Freddy Krueger's bladed glove from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) for $9,500 in June of 2010, and Freddy Krueger's signature screen-used hat from A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) for $4,500 in May of 2009.
