Previously unseen for 33 years, the untitled painting will be auctioned for the first time in New York next month.
|Paul Whitney Hunter is an American artist famous for his watercolour paintings of animals.
Although no information on the artist himself exists, prints of his work including paintings of deer, wild birds and puppies are widely available throughout the United States and are commonly found in many homes.
These prints feature facsimile signatures, and vary greatly in size and shape. They have no real value as collectibles, but they remain hugely popular as wildlife studies and can be purchased second-hand from sites such as eBay for less than $10.
