Jax Beer was first produced in 1913, at the Jax Brewing Company in Jacksonville, Florida, US.

Following the end of prohibition the beer gained popularity throughout the south-eastern US, alongside Jax Stout and Jax Ale.

The Jackson Brewing Company went bankrupt in 1974 and Jax Beer’s rights were acquired by the San Antonio, Texas-based Pearl Brewing Company.

The beer continues to be made by Pearl today.1
