William Rogers (1801 – 1873) was a US silversmith who lent his name to at least six different silver companies in the 19th century, each with their own variation of the Rogers mark.

Oneida is a global producer of stainless steel flatware, with its headquarters based in the US.

Established in the late 1880s as the Oneida Community, it purchased the WM A Rogers silverware company in 1929 and changed its name to Oneida in 1935.

The company continued to mark many of its pieces with "WM A Rogers" up until the late 1970s.1
